If you are aged between 12 and your 17th birthday and you are interested in joining HQ (Westminster Dragoons) Squadron, The Royal Yeomanry, we recommend that you join one of the two ACF units which are linked to us:

Westminster Dragoon Cadets.  ACF Hut, Conisborough Crescent, Catford, London SE6 2SS. Telephone 020 8461 4152

131 Cadet Det Royal Tank Regiment, TA Centre, 27 St John’s Hill, Battersea, London SW11 1TT

If neither of those is near where you live, then join the closest ACF unit to you, but keep in touch with us.

The ACF is not part of the Army: if you join, there would be no pressure on you to sign up to the Army (regular or territorial).  But it would give you excellent preparation and training in skills that would be useful when you come to us, such as first aid, navigation, fieldcraft, survival and skill-at-arms.  You would also gain in confidence, assertiveness, stamina, physical courage, leadership, teamwork and problem-solving.

Cadets train once or twice a week and occasional weekends. In addition, there is a two-week annual camp once a year.
