HQ (Westminster Dragoons) Squadron, The Royal Yeomanry have deployed soldiers and officers on Op HERRICK. The soldiers have gone to augment regular Army units as armoured fighting vehicle drivers and commanders and in the dismounted (infantry) role in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
Our officers have deployed in a variety of roles, ranging from cultural advisers to linguists to second-in-command of A Company of the 2nd Battalion (Royal Highland Fusiliers), Royal Regiment of Scotland, mentoring the Afghan National Army’s non-commissioned officer training throughout Afghanistan.
