For W (Westminster Dragoons) Squadron, as with the rest of the Royal Yeomanry, the social element of membership has always been important.
Every Wednesday night after training the bar opens and acts as a focal point for frank and fair discussion for all ranks. In addition, the Officers' and Sergeants' Messes act as an extended family for their members.
Each year the junior ranks throw a black tie party to say thank you to the partners of the squadron’s members.
Annually there is also a WD Regimental Association Dinner for former and current members, as well as the Jerusalem Dinner (the Officers’ and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers’ celebration of the Westminster Dragoons’ entry into Jerusalem in 1917).
The squadron's officers dine every Wednesday evening and also attend regimental dinners and balls during the year.
