Personalities

Officer Commanding -
The OC commands the squadron.

Squadron second in command -
The 2IC oversees the administrative side of the squadron. He sets out the training calendar for the squadron and is normally responsible for planning and running exercises. He is ultimately in charge of the serviceability of all of the squadron's kit.

Permanent Staff Administration Officer -
The PSAO is a regular officer who runs the administration of the squadron on a day to day basis.

Training Officer -
The Training Officer organises the squadron's individual training. He also leads the recruiting team.

1 Troop Leader -
1 Troop Leader leads the "reception" troop, in which new soldiers are developed from raw trained soldiers into proper, thinking Royal Armoured Corps crewmen.

2 Troop Leader -
This officer is currently on Full-Time Reserve Service with the Queen's Dragoon Guards in Iraq and his troop is being held in abeyance until his return.

3 Troop Leader -
3 Troop Leader runs one of the "sabre" troops.

4 Troop Leader -
4 Troop Leader leads the second "sabre" troop.

Squadron Sergeant Major -
The SSM is the most senior enlisted man within the squadron. His job is to endure the smooth running of the squadron and he is also responsible for every aspect of implementing its administration. In practice, the relationship between the roles of the Squadron 2IC and the SSM is similar to the one between Troop Leader and Troop Sergeant: the SSM and Troop Sergeant actually do the work, while the Troop Leaders and Squadron 2IC supervise and get it in the neck if anything goes wrong.

Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant -
The SQMS's role is to ensure that the squadron's kit is well looked after. He also acquires supplied of food, water, fuel and ammunition for the squadron.

Quartermaster, NRPS -
Provides backup for the SQMS.

Permanent Staff Instructor -
The PSI is a regular soldier attached to the squadron.  He is responsible for training but also voluntarily takes on much of the job of ensuring the smooth running of the administration of the squadron. This includes booking of courses etc.
